SVS-Vistek has developed its new UV machine vision camera, the fxo487MXGE, by integrating an 8.1-megapixel Sony Pregius Ultraviolet (UV) image sensor with a 10GigE Vision interface. In addition to low latency and flexible cabling options, the much higher bandwidth of 10GigE Vision enables the transmission of large, high-resolution images at very high frame rates. Built on the proven SVS-Vistek FXO platform, the fxo487MXGE is capable of capturing full 2840 x 2840 UV resolution images at 87 frames per second, while saving integration costs with compatibility with standard Ethernet infrastructure, Power over Ethernet, and C-mount lenses.

The fxo487MXGE UV camera enables the detection of defects or specific features in the range of 40-200 nm that are not visible under normal lighting conditions. Among its many applications, the fxo487MXGE finds hidden defects or contaminants in food, beverages and pharmaceuticals, sorts recycled materials at high speed, identifies counterfeit products or forged documents, inspects transparent materials for defects and analyzes biological samples by observing fluorescent markers.
Technical benefits that complement the camera’s feature set include: industrial TTL-24V I/O interface with SafeTrigger, GenICam 3.0, logic functions, programmable sequencers and timers, RS232 interface and integrated 4-channel strobe driver. This camera has been designed for industrial environments and has a temperature range of up to 60°C (140°F) and is IP30 rated.
